Mannochmore Distillery produced one of the most controversial releases our industry has ever seen – the ‘Black Whisky’ – it’s enthusiastic caramel colouring sparked outrage. Today, our Whisky Creations Team present this charming Speyside malt, displaying its honest, natural colour accrued from the cask.

Initially filled into a standard hogshead, this light, fruity spirit developed complexity but very little colour. We’ve nurtured the complexity and developed the colour by finishing this Speysider in PX Sherry casks from our partners, Ximénez-Spínola for its final two years – displaying the true Art of Maturation.
