Ledaig
Overlooking the sleepy fishing harbour on the Isle of Mull, Tobermory Distillery produces both an unpeated and a heavily peated spirit with the latter being bottled under the distillery’s original name, Ledaig (pronounced le-chick). This rich, oily single malt spent its final years in a specially selected wine barrique from the celebrated Jurançon region, in the foothills of the Pyrenees. This is a celebration of cask and spirit. A wonderfully balanced whisky, created by further maturing this rich, oily West Coast single malt in a freshly emptied cask, once holding a lusciously sweet, fruity French wine – a courageous maturation. This is truly inspired Scotch whisky.
