Murray McDavid Launches AFICIONADO: A Collection of Rare Vintage Single Malt Scotch Whiskies

Now, we proudly introduce AFICIONADO — a distinguished new collection of rare, hand-selected vintage Single Malt Scotch Whiskies, launching today, 10 March 2026.
Positioned between our celebrated Mission Gold series and our exceptionally aged ULTRA collection, AFICIONADO represents a refined new tier within the Murray McDavid portfolio. These are long-matured, carefully curated single malts from some of Scotland’s most revered distilleries.
Each expression is bottled in small batches, at natural colour and without chill filtration, ensuring the authenticity and individuality of every dram remain intact.

The Inaugural AFICIONADO Releases
Mortlach – 34 Years Old (1989)
Speyside | 40.1% ABV | 179 bottles | Est. UK RRP £650
Distilled in 1989 and finished in Pedro Ximénez sherry octaves, this 34-year-old Mortlach balances richness and structure with remarkable finesse. Barley sugars and beeswax evolve into creamy fudge, dried apricot and fruity oak, while the PX octave finish adds luxurious depth. Orange peel and toasted malt linger gracefully on the finish.
Islay | 41.4% ABV | 160 bottles | Est. UK RRP £650
This 1990 vintage Bowmore was initially matured in refill bourbon hogsheads before an enriching finish in first-fill Oloroso sherry octaves. The result is an elegant interplay of floral smoke, sea spray and salted peach, layered with mellow cigar leaf and clove. Coastal character meets refined sherry complexity in a beautifully poised 34-year-old Islay single malt.
Imperial – 35 Years Old (1989)
Speyside | 42.7% ABV | 139 bottles | Est. UK RRP £695
A rare gem from the silent Imperial Distillery, this 35-year-old single malt has matured entirely in a bourbon barrel. Notes of oily pineapple, honied peach and subtle sweet peat are wrapped in a creamy, gently spiced texture. Three and a half decades of careful maturation have created a whisky of elegance, balance and quiet power.
