On Friday 27 March, The Old Bank Whisky Shop hosts a hands-on Blending Workshop that puts you in the blender’s seat. Explore the building blocks of Scotch whisky before crafting a blend that’s entirely your own.

Guided by Murray McDavid’s Head of Whisky Creation, Dean Jode, the evening begins with a guided exploration of five single malts and a grain whisky, breaking down their aromas, flavours, and textures. Along the way, Dean will share practical tips, techniques, and insights used by professional blenders — all designed to help you understand balance, structure, and flavour harmony.

Then it’s time to get creative. Using what you’ve learned, you’ll build a bespoke blend tailored to your personal taste, fine-tuning it until it’s just right. At the end of the night, you’ll bottle your creation and leave with a one-off 20cl bottle of Scotch whisky — a blend that exists nowhere else.

The exact drams will be revealed on the night, adding an extra layer of discovery to this immersive experience.
